April Showers In New Music

April 2013 is such an exciting month for music. Only one week has passed and already two boy bands have made their comeback, platinum-selling country newcomers The Band Perry released their second album, one of my favorite alternative bands Cold War Kids released an incredible and fun new album, and rock legends The Flaming Lips released their thirteenth album. What an awesome collection of artists. As if that wasn't enough, I'm even more excited for the music that's coming up this month!
Scottish pop singer Emeli Sandé has been around since 2009 but is just now breaking into the U.S. market and all I have to say is, what the heck took so long?? I first heard Emeli's song "Next to Me" when she performed it this year on The BRIT Awards and then, shortly after, started hearing a version on the radio featuring Kendrick Lamar (loooooove). This girl is crazy talented. Her iTunes Session comes out on the 23rd so make sure you pick it up!

The never-disappointing Paramore is releasing their self-titled album this Tuesday and since they haven't had an album out since 2009, I'm sure that all of their fans are beyond excited to hear the new music.

If synth-pop artist Charli XCX's current single You (Ha Ha Ha) is any indicator of what her new album True Romance will be like, then it will yet again be studded with eccentric electro-pop perfection. Can't wait!

Fall Out Boy came out of hiatus with a bang this year releasing their new single, "My Songs Knew What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)" and, judging by the name, Save Rock and Roll will be chock full of pop-punk anthems just like it.

Other new releases that I will be indulging in this month include Phoenix - Bankrupt!, Olly Murs - Right Place Right Time, Iron & Wine - Ghost on Ghost, Michael Buble - To Be Loved, and Major Lazer - Free the Universe. Stooooooked.
